Wood Duck Trivia

City friends are suspicious when I tell them that wood ducks roost in trees. “But how,” they ask, “do they perch with webbed feet?”  The answer is in their anatomy! Unlike most ducks, wood ducks have claws on their feet that make them especially well adapted for sitting on branches.
