Last Sunday morning, my
neighbor and friend, Bonnie, called at 8:00 a.m. to alert me to a major wildlife
occurrence: a family of six Trumpeter
Swans had flown in to visit Bon Bon Pond!
I appreciated the call as I was outside at the time but, due to the
heavy forest foliage, had not spotted the guests.
Upon receiving the exciting
news, I ran back outside, Casio in hand, and formulated a strategy: moving with great stealth, I would sneak down
the hill, and plant myself behind a tree where I would wait for the
unsuspecting swimmers to float by.
As
with most “perfect plans,” this one fell far short. The swans outsmarted me and kept to Bonnie’s
side of the pond, just outside the acceptable range of my camera. The pictures I took won’t win any awards but
they did capture a memorable morning spent with the loveliest of friends.
WOW!! What a lucky day!! :)
