Sunday Brunch at the Pond

In Minnesota we call the 13 lined ground squirrel a “gopher” and he is our state mascot.  What a perfect choice as you couldn’t ask for a friendlier and more personable goodwill ambassador.  Henry and his relatives are nearly tame and like to run over my feet.  They love attention  almost as much as they love a good meal of sunflower seeds.

Warm Wishes for a Wonderful Thursday

Last evening, I heard the unmistakable thump of acorns hitting the porch roof.  A message that summer’s days are limited and that autumn will soon be upon us—at least those of us in the northern hemisphere.  Also, a good reminder to take time out of a busy schedule to literally stop and smell the flowers and appreciate the beauty of the season.   Here’s hoping your Thursday is as perfect as a summer bouquet.
