Snow. Snow. And more
snow. Today’s total was around three
inches. Tonight came the wind and the
inevitable drifting. The driveway is
nearly impassable. More is on the way
today and I couldn’t be happier. When I look at the sea of white what I
envision is a rejuvenated Bon Bon Pond, restored to its former level and loveliness.
The snow is
exquisite but I worry about the wildlife. Deep drifts this late in the season make it especially difficult for
the deer and turkeys to find food. My herd
of six and rafter of 26 are now here nearly all day. Adapting to the high snow banks, the toms
have taken to eating directly from the hanging feeders. Such smart boys!
