Hi Choo! Technically, for 2012 the first day of fall—the autumnal equinox-- begins in the Northern Hemisphere on September 22, at 10:49 A.M. EDT. According to United States tradition, however, autumn begins the day after Labor Day when custom dictates we put away our white pants and shoes.
"Indian Summer" occurs when the temps warm up AFTER the first freeze.
So sad. It was fun while it lasted.

I didn't know that! Are you sure? I thought summer only ends September 21.
