If you live in the Midwest, or other locales
where winter has wimped out, please remember to look out for the brown and black banded wooly bear
caterpillars. Unseasonably warm weather is waking up these sweet little
critters and sending them out in search of food. Since there's no greenery
available they will starve. It's so simple to save a little life! If you see some wandering, just carefully scoop them up, place them in an un-burped food
storage container and put them into the crisper section of your fridge. It's not
necessary to poke holes as too much air will cause them to dry out. When spring
arrives, place them outside close to water and fresh leaves.
