The photo above was taken on October 10th and seems to mark the final fall appearance of my
beloved turkeys. This year’s crop did
exceptionally well. My three resident
hens produced a total of 18 poults, all of which made it to maturity.
Wild turkeys do not migrate
but rather “group up” in one large “rafter”
during the winter so I imagine mine have joined up with other smaller flocks. Last winter the rafter did visit occasionally
so I am hopeful to see my beautiful birds again before spring. I wonder where they go? I would wager it’s a corn field close by. Stay safe and well, my friends!
