Those rascally raccoons are
raising a ruckus with the bird feeders.
It’s gotten so bad I now have to bring in even the top of the pole
units. I recently read an online article
that said raccoons can remember for up to three years where they found food
once. Unbelievable!
We have occasional raccoon visitors and they raid the squirrel peanut bin and bird seed and also eat up the cat food. We know when it's raccoons because we find the cat food dish outside the dog house! And a couple of times, we actually saw our masked bandits in the act of raiding the squirrel bin. Strangely, though, they showed up only a few times and never again after that even though we've never emptied the bins of food at night and often, they're full of food. Wonder where our raccoons go to? I read a very moving story about a boy and his raccoon, Rascal, and these creatures are dear to my heart.
